Small tear

Maintainance workers bring down the Philippine flag at the Rizal Park May 22, 2015, for a much needed repair after a small tear was discovered on the white equilateral triangle which symbolizes liberty, equality, and fraternity. The repair is expected be finished before the 117th National Flag day on May 28, 2015.

The flag is permanently hoisted in front of these government offices: Malacañang, the Senate, the House of Representatives at the Batasan, Supreme Court, the Rizal Monument in Manila, the Aguinaldo Shrine in Cavite, the Barasoain Shrine in Malolos, the Tomb of Unknown Soldier at Libingan ng mga Bayani, the Musoleo de los Beteranos dela Revolucion, international ports of entry, and other places designated by National Historical Commission of the Philippines. National Flag Day is annually observed from May 28 to June 12, Philippine Independence Day. The Philippine flag is hoisted in offices and agencies of government, businesses, schools, and private homes during the period, to symbolize the Filipinos’ unity as a people. MB
