Floods Cripple Metro

Torrential rains brought the country to a standstill August 7, 2012, forcing at least 20,000 people to flee their homes. A total of 19 people were reported killed as heavy monsoon rains the equivalent of more than half a month’s rainfall battered Metro Manila and its surrounding provinces since Sunday, causing floods, land- slides and dams to overflow.
