Philippines Protest
Protesters clash with the Civil Disturbance Management Group of the Manila Police District as they attempt to occupy a historic bridge in Manila, Philippines Wednesday Dec. 7, 2011 to dramatize discontent over poverty and inequality. Several protesters were hurt as police charged with water cannon and batons to push them away from Mendiola Bridge in downtown Manila. It was the second attempt to hold a rally in two days and dispersed twice.
