More than 17,000 graves represent 13,434 single identified remains including 570 Philippine Nationals who were serving with US Forces in the Southwest Pacific.

FIRST LIGHT OF DAY

A 2.7 kg. healthy baby girl is born normally to Moisel Tapia, inside the delivery room of the Doña Marta Lying-in Center in Pasay City, yesterday morning. Representatives of the Department of Health and international health aid organizations, like the United Children’s Fund (Unicef), were onhand as the State of Motherhood Week kicked off yesterday at the health facility which exemplifies the standards set for the care of mothers and their newborn.

Confetties kept on raining as the motorcade of Manny Pacquiao went around Manila's streets, May 11, 2009. The route was also diverted to some streets as the original route in the city of Manila was change.

Adoring crowds waved and gave boxing hero Manny Pacquiao a rousing welcome during his three-city motorcade.

Demolition in the name of development

An old woman goes hysterical as a demolition crew from the Philippine Estate Authority (PEA) tear down their shanties at the so called “Floating Village” South of Manila. Authorities said that the residents agreed they would vacate the area in exchange for 6,000 pesos each family and a relocation site.
