Anti-VFA protestors clash with cops

Tension erupted in Manila as policemen and members of protesting militants opposed to the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) clashed near the United States Embassy.
A radio report said that anti-riot policemen from the Manila Police District (MPD) started blocking militants from Gabriela and Courage from trying to approach the US Embassy along Roxas Boulevard in Manila. The report said the policemen, using their truncheons and shields, tried hitting and warding off the group of rallyists, led by Courage president Ferdinand Gaite.
